Who the free Slido plan is enough for
A free plan with a 100 person cap covers more events than people expect. A team meeting, a classroom, a workshop, a small conference breakout or a town hall for one department all fit comfortably under it. If you run a few sessions a month and the audience stays small, you may never need to pay.
It also suits you if the host is the only person who has to deal with questions. Limited moderation is fine when you are in the room, reading the list yourself, and the crowd is people you know. Slido is a mature product from a large vendor, so you also get an integrations ecosystem to grow into if your needs change.
When to look elsewhere
The cap is the first thing to hit. An all-hands, a customer webinar or a conference keynote can pass 100 attendees quickly, and the next step up is a paid plan billed annually per member. If you only need one big event a year, Slido's pricing page also lists one-time plans, so check those before committing to an annual plan.
The second is moderation. If the audience can type anything and the screen is public, you probably want to pre-approve questions, and that is a paid feature on Slido's listed plans. The third is integrations. If your slides live in PowerPoint or your meetings run in Teams or Zoom, Slido's integrations are a real advantage, and nothing we offer replaces them.
A free option with no signup: ShuffleTurn
ShuffleTurn is free, and neither hosts nor participants have to sign up. You get live Q&A with upvoting, anonymous questions, pinning, a big-screen view, QR and short-code join, and CSV export. Question pre-approval exists, though it is off by default, so switch it on when you create the session. Polls cover multiple choice, quizzes with a leaderboard, ratings, open text, word clouds and ranking.
Here is what it lacks: slide decks, templates, custom branding, translations, SSO, and integrations with PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom. For webinars you share the link or QR in the call chat and show the display view. There is no participant cap in the app, but it has not been load-tested for very large events, so do not treat it as proven at that size. A paid plan is planned but not available as of October 17, 2026.
