Webinar Q&A Tool

ShuffleTurn is a free webinar Q&A tool that runs next to your webinar, not inside it. You paste a link or QR code in the chat or on a slide, attendees submit and upvote questions from their browser, and your moderator sorts the queue.

  • Free to use
  • Works with any webinar tool via a shared link
  • Moderator console and display view
  • Pre-approval available

How it fits with the webinar you already run

Be clear about one thing before you commit. This does not plug into Zoom, Webex, Teams or any other webinar platform. There is no add-in and no panel inside the meeting window. You create a Q&A session in a browser tab and share a link or QR code with attendees, much as you would share a slide deck URL.

That has a real cost. Attendees have to open a second tab or use their phone, and some will not bother. It also has a benefit. Because nothing is tied to a platform, the same Q&A works if you switch webinar tools, run a hybrid event, or present to a room and a stream at once.

Chat is a poor place for questions

Webinar chat mixes greetings, links, technical complaints and real questions in a single scrolling stream. By the time the speaker looks up, the good question from ten minutes ago is gone. A dedicated queue keeps questions in one place, lets attendees upvote duplicates instead of retyping them, and gives the moderator a way to mark what is already answered.

Upvoting also helps with time. If you have 15 minutes at the end and 60 questions, the ones with the most votes are a sensible place to begin. It is not perfect, since popular is not the same as important, so pinned questions let the moderator lift anything that must be covered.

Roles for a smooth session

Webinars often work best with two people: a presenter and a moderator. The moderator uses the console to approve or reject questions, merge the obvious repeats by rejecting extras, and pin the one the speaker should take next. The presenter only sees what the display view shows.

If you are alone, leave pre-approval off, glance at the console between sections, and answer from the display view. Turning pre-approval on is worth it for public or sensitive sessions, because nothing reaches the screen until you allow it. Be aware that it adds work for the moderator and can slow the queue.

How to add Q&A to a webinar

Get started in minutes

1

Create the webinar Q&A before you go live

Set the name policy and decide whether to turn on pre-approval. You get a join link, a QR code and a short code.

2

Paste the link in the chat or on a slide

Drop the link into the webinar chat at the start, and put the QR code on your opening and closing slides.

3

Moderate from the console

A moderator approves, rejects, pins or marks questions answered while attendees upvote the ones they care about.

4

Show the top questions and answer them

Share the display view window so everyone sees the upvote-ranked list, then export the questions as CSV afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work inside Zoom, Webex or Teams?
No. ShuffleTurn does not plug into any webinar platform. It runs in its own browser tab and you share a link or QR code with attendees, in the chat or on a slide. That keeps it working with any webinar tool, but it also means attendees leave the webinar window to ask a question.
How do attendees get to the Q&A?
You create the session, copy the link or short join code, and paste it into the webinar chat. You can also put the QR code on a slide or show the display view. Attendees open it in a phone or laptop browser. Nothing needs to be installed.
Can I review questions before the audience sees them?
Yes. Pre-approval moderation is available, though it is off by default when you create a session, so turn it on if you want it. With it on, each question waits for you to approve it. You can also reject, restore, pin and mark questions as answered.
Can attendees ask anonymously?
Yes. The host picks the policy for each session: anonymous, display names, or required login. Questions are written text of up to 500 characters. Each person can submit up to 20 questions and upvote each question once, which keeps one enthusiastic attendee from flooding the queue.
How do I show the questions during the webinar?
Open the big-screen display view in its own window and share that window in your webinar, or keep it on a second monitor. It shows the live, upvote-ranked list. Your moderator works from a separate console, so you can present clean questions while they handle the queue.
Is there a limit on how many people can attend?
The app does not set a participant cap, but we have not load-tested it for large events and it runs on a single realtime worker. We cannot tell you a proven audience size. For a very large public webinar, test it with a small group first and have a fallback plan.
Can I keep a record of the questions afterwards?
Yes. The host can export the session as CSV with the question text, status, upvotes, whether it was pinned, and the time it was created. The export has no author names. We do not promise how long sessions are stored, so export what you need after the webinar.
